Emanuele J. DeStefano, Esquire. is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Mr. DeStefano's practice has focused upon building construction contract law for the past 38 years, beginning with the Commercial Litigation Division of the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York. Mr. DeStefano was associated with two boutique construction contract law firms in Manhattan before establishing his own practice.

 

In 1983 he was in-house general counsel and project manager to a major HVAC contractor that performed the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Grand Hall restoration projects. He returned to private practice two years later and has remained a construction contract litigator ever since.

Over the course of his career, Mr. DeStefano served with the American Arbitration Association on the Panel of Construction Arbitrators in New York and in Pennsylvania for eight years and arbitrated numerous construction disputes. He also served as special solicitor for construction to his local school board, as solicitor on the Building Code Board of Appeals for a local inter-municipal group of five townships and as chairman of his township Zoning Hearing Board.

Dr. Michael Lichtenberg is a New York attorney and a partner at Havens & Lichtenberg PLLC since 2009.

 

Dr. Lichtenberg has drafted and negotiated numerous construction contracts and represented both sides in construction disputes, in and out of courts.

Before entering the legal profession, Dr. Lichtenberg oversaw construction projects commissioned by the agency where he was a national-level executive. Later, as the head of a construction company, Dr. Lichtenberg has accumulated a working, first-hand knowledge of all aspects of construction. His thorough understanding of how the issues are seen by both sides of the dispute and by the courts enables him to effectively assist the parties in finding a fair compromise without the expenses and delays of litigation.
